Richard Charters – 2020 Chairman & Club, Sunday and 3rd xi Captain

We asked Richard Charters, 3rd & Sunday xi captain, some quick questions on reflection of the 2020 season.

Would you say this season has been a success?

The club has all come together as one club. Everyone has played on a regular basis and have played for Windsor not just in a Team clique. The “apres” cricket bar has been the most warm, light and friendliest gatherings that I have known at the club for years and years.

Who’s surprised you in your team this summer?

Woody [Paul Woodbridge] still keeps going even though he is officially the old man of the Team, Karl [Ziemkendorf] for his batting and wicket keeping and Zach [Roberts] for his high intensity bowling.

Who are you looking forward to having a big summer in 2021?

Kai Ziemkendorf, we have a potential pro cricketer on our books if he keeps progressing the way he has done this year. Rob Dawson and Richard E. Noble to score their long awaited maiden tons for the CC.

What will you remember about the 2020 season?

Great Fun, Sunday Invincibles, Sunday tons (Karl 3, Tom Lilburn 1, Austin 1)  and the club looking closer to it’s former glory.

What moment would you say summed up being a skipper for Windsor CC?

Windsor Sunday xi scoring 362 for 1 in 40 overs; relentless.
