With Tiddington winning the toss and electing to bat, Windsor were initially rocked by an onslaught from opener and captain Nick Pykett which saw the opposition 64 after 8 overs. Wes Nichols, making a rare Sunday appearance having been let out by Michelle, dismissed the dangerous Pykett who had just notched up his 50. Olly Jordan took the sharp catch at gully which turned out to be a match winner. The finest spinning attack in Windsor CC (sorry Ben and Rah!) then took the Tiddington batsmen apart with Chris Kellard taking 3-31 (8 overs) and Alex Kurth, Umar Malik and Mark Lines each taking 2 wickets. Of course, Marv Care took the traditional stumping off Kellard and Mid off and Mid On aka Rick Baumgartner and John Waldron, took 5 catches between them.

Tiddington were all out for 184 which looked well under control with openers Wes Nichols and Kris Baumgartner clocking up 82 off the first 14 overs before Wes was run out for 35 …..ball watching again!! Baumgartner went on to score 71 off 76 balls before trying to use the back of his bat and being caught at square leg. A slight middle order wobble saw Waldron (5) and Malik (10) back in the pavilion before Mark Lines, ably supported by Alex Haynes (13) and Rick Baumgartner (7) saw the team home. Lines was impressive, scoring 37 off 38 balls, taking Windsor to 188 in the 39th over.

We’re now looking forward to our last league match against Burnham and sure Rah will be out for revenge after their first round spanking!
