MASL Burnham vs Windsor
Windsor’s Sunday League campaign got off to a poor start when they were easily defeated by a strong Burnham side on Sunday. After a rain interruption the game was reduced to 30 overs per side.
On winning the toss Burnham elected to bat and immediatley set about the Windsor attack with Eclas and Choudhrey playing shots all round the wicket. It was the introduction of Gould to the bowling attack who re-introduced some control to the game removing Choudrey for 33. More success then followed when Endacott bowled Imran for 6.
However, this only brought to the crease Fazal who played a flurry of strokes before been dismissed by Chorley for 42. By now Burnham were well on their way to posting a big total. Some hitting at the end from Kahn and Hughes saw the Burnham innings close on an imposing 198 – 6 from their 30 overs. Windsor were left to wonder what might have been though after a number of dropped catches.
In reply Windsor got off to a disastrous start losing Chorley in the third over. However, Davis looked to push the Windsor innings on with a number of fine strokes through the off side. His departure for 29 though led to the Windsor middle order succumbing for a number of low scores as they failed to make any real attempt at Burnham’s total. The Windsor innings closed at 123-8 with Bird finishing on 67 not out.
