Windsor 4th X1 204 All Out (50 Overs) S.Martin 138, Reeves 4-72
North Maidenhead 4th X1 205 for 4 (47 Overs) Tuckfield 38, Follett 38, S.Martin 2-39
Result – North Maidenhead Won by 6 Wickets
Despite a magnificent 138 by Aussie superstar Scott Martin it was not enough to give a depleted Windsor side victory over a solid North Maidenhead. Windsor who only had four players from the team that played the previous Saturday due to a catalogue of injuries and unavailabilities put up a good fight despite only having three recognised out and out bowlers. North Maidenhead won the toss and elected to bowl, obviously having taken note of recent Windsor batting performances, but for the first time this season Windsor secured maximum batting points after a determined batting performance. Scott Martin deserves all the plaudits for his sparkling 138, but messrs Lickley and Gegg should take some credit for some staunch support batting allowing two 60+ partnerships, they both kept one end tight despite some spirited bowling to give Martin some solid support. The big question was always going to be was 204 ever going be enough, with only three recognised bowlers. A poor start with a catalogue of extras gave North Maidenhead a dream start and they never looked back, Martin followed up his batting heroics with some tight bowling (15-1-39-2), this combined with some fast bowling and two wickets for Lewis made it much more of a contest, and at one stage Windsor were right back in it, but Maidenhead always had the wickets in hand, and in the end sensible batting saw them home. But with players back available next week, there are a number of positives for the week ahead.
