Result – NPL Teddington Won by 3 Wickets
A sparkling run-a-ball century from Aussie Star Batsman Scott Martin was give Windsor 4th XI victory over earlier front runners NPL Teddington. Winning the toss, Windsor Skipper Light, decided to have a bat on surprisingly good wicket for May. Windsor once didn’t bat to their potential, exposing the tail at 94/5 off of 20 overs. This left Martin & Light at the crease needing to steady the innings. Light though, had other ideas hitting 23 in quick style, before trying one too many and being clean bowled by Ward on 23. Martin then decided himnself to play some expeansive cricket, knowing the tail on this Windsor Terrier certainly wagged! Finaaly just before the end Brown must take a mentin by being the 1st person this season to take Martin’s wicket and leave him on an average of 295!!!!! , leaving Windsor 50 runs short of a par score.
In reply, Teddington took the ball by the horns and ruthlessly punished the opening bowling of Khanna & Johal until the impressive debutant Walkett bowled Manns for 41, leaving the home side on 103/2 off of 14 Overs. Windsor then fought back, with excellent bowling by both Walket & Light reducing Teddington to 165/7. Despite this, Teddington reached the required total without further loss showing that this game was lost by Windsor’s poor batting.
