Subarker spins Windsor to Victory
Chalfont St Peter 164 (Subarker 4-35)
Windsor 167-4 (Noble 50, Bullock 37*)
Windsor completed a comfortable win on Saturday by 6 wickets at home to Chalfont St Peter. Upon winning the toss Windsor elected to bat first and thanks to mix up with the batsmen and an early breakthrough from the bowlers, Windsor were in the box seat at 20-2 and never really relinquished it. Chalfont rallied to 70-2 but the introduction of the off spin of Amit Subarkher and the accurate Alex Hill, meant Windsor were able to turn the screw on Chalfont who thanks to some excellent outfielding were finding it increasingly difficult to score. Wickets fell constantly throughout the game and only a 30 run partnership for the 10th wicket saw Chalfont finally bowled out for 164, Amit Subarker with 4-35 being the chief destroyer.
Despite the low score Windsor were careful not to lose wicket early and established opening pair of Paul Huggins and Rob Noble did just that. Seeing off the early Chalfont attack after fifteen overs and Windsor 40-0, the run chase never looked in any difficulty. After losing Huggins, the elegant Andrew Chorley came to the crease and the run rate accelerated. However after completing his 50 Noble and Chorley went in quick succession, although this only brought the hard hitting and fast running of Tom Bullock to the crease and he and Abul Ashraf got Windsor to within touching distance of the total before Ashraf was adjudged LBW and it was left to Richard Noble and Bullock to complete the easy victory.
